How to Insert Screenshots

You should use app screenshot as images when your content discusses mobile apps.

App Screenshots

  • Find the app in an online store page (AppleGoogle Play, etc.)
  • Search for the app
  • From the app page find a screenshot

Work-with-CopyPress Requirement: How to Insert App Screenshots

  • Right click the image
  • Select “Copy Image Location”
  • On the article page in the CMS, place the cursor in the article content where you would like to insert the image
  • Click on insert/edit image (tree icon)
  • When the image box opens, paste the URL of the photo into the Image URL box
  • Click the green insert button (Say yes to the pop-up box)
  • Copy the URL for the webpage that you took the image from
  • Add the attribution under the image in the CMS
    • Image via [Website Name]
    • Use the website name as the anchor text and the Website URL (the exact page with the image) as the anchor URL
    • Example: Image via Apple.com

Webpage Screenshots

You should use screenshots as images when your content discusses webpages.

Because each computer uses a different method for taking screen shots, please use the provided website (“take-a-screenshot.org”) to help determine the best way for taking screenshots from your computer.

Take a Screenshot

  • Save the screen shot to your computer
  • Go to Imgur.com
  • Under upload images, select “Computer”
  • Open your saved image
  • Select “Start Upload”
  • Select “Edit image” in the top right-hand corner of the page under “Image Options”
    • Crop the image to include only relevant information
    • Resize the image so that the image is at least 300 pixels wide
      • Type the number in the first box in the right-hand corner
      • Make sure the lock proportions box is selected
      • Hit the tab button
      • Save

  • Copy the link under “Direct Link (email & IM)”
  • On the article page in the CMS, place the cursor in the article content where you would like to insert the image
  • Click on insert/edit image (tree icon)
  • When the image box opens, paste the URL of the photo into the Image URL box
  • Click the green insert button (Say yes to the pop-up box)
  • Go back to the Imgur page
  • Copy the link under “Link (email & IM)”
  • Add the attribution under the image in the CMS
    • Image via [Website Name]
    • Use the website name as the anchor text and the Website URL (the exact page with the image) as the anchor URL
    • Example: Image via CopyPressed.com
