Using Graphics and Visuals

You should always use graphics to support information and concepts in your text. There are many ways to graphically represent your content. Good visuals include, but are not limited to:

Images/Pictures

  • Use images to visually represent the main theme of the content.
  • Use images that are roughly the same size and orientation (all horizontal or all vertical). It looks best.
  • Provide proper attribution for images.
  • Use only high-quality images. Do not use blurry or unprofessional looking images.

Screenshots

You can use screenshots from your computer or mobile device to support your text. CopyPress recommends using Awesome Screenshot to take screenshots directly from your browser.

Other options: Since each computer uses a different method for taking screen shots, please use the provided website to help determine the best way for taking screenshots from your computer — Take a Screenshot. Or you can take screenshots from your phone or find screenshots for specific apps on an online store page (AppleGoogle Play).

Videos

Using YouTube.com or Vimeo.com, you can find videos to add to your content. You can embed the videos directly into your content.

You can insert Tweets from Twitter into your content by using the embed tweet options.
